I am an Artist: Amie Clute

Amie Clute just had her Final Exhibition at JFK University’s Art Gallery. Here is a conversation she had with Lisa and myself, Lauren last week. Some interesting topics were covered like art history, the narrative in art, as well as being part of the gallery world.

    Dear Lisa and Lauren,

Thank you so much for inviting me to be featured for one of your artist’s interviews. you’re contributing to the artistic community in a dynamic and personable way.

so interesting seeing myself working out ideas with someone. i like that. dialog keeps things fresh and allows for the opportunity to grow and evolve.

I like the interview, in general, being an artist myself, I may have done a few things differently, but it’s not my piece! Keep up the good work.

p.s. there’s been an interesting happening at sfai with a man i mentored with at jfku, john rapko. he’s a professor there now, but received his PhD from Berkeley and writes for different art magazines, such as art week. Art is his passion, next to philosophy. anyway, it’s definitely important to keep an open mind when it comes to listening to others beliefs, especially to those who make us question our beliefs. only the week of heart are threatened by listening.

There should be an article regarding his dilemma appearing in art week next issue.

    be well,
