Write a Postcard to the Summer

Before summer begins to fade, pause and notice what is glowing around you.
Find a quiet place outdoors or sit beside an open window and spend a few moments observing the colors, shapes, sounds, and textures of August.
On a small piece of paper, create a postcard celebrating this fleeting season. Draw the curve of a leaf, paint the colors of the sunset, collage a memory, or write a few words about something you want to remember.
You don’t need to be an artist. You only need to pause, notice, and create.
You will need:
- To set aside 10 uninterrupted minutes
- A postcard or postcard-sized piece of paper
- Pencils, pens, markers, crayons, paint, or whatever
On the back, complete the following sentence:
Dear Summer, thank you for…
Keep your postcard somewhere special, mail it to someone you love, or share it with us on social media using #TakeAnArtBreak and #ArtIsMoving
