Questions About Art

What is your goal as an artist?

My all around life goal is to leave the world a better place than it was when I got here. In terms of art, I hope to leave the art world a better place than it was when I entered it. By “better”, I mean:

  • Encourage more people to be involved in art–either participating, viewing, or talking about it.
  • Provide more information about what it is like to be an artist in today’s society.
  • Completely open the art world’s doors wide open so everyone is able to join in.

How will I do this? Well, this blog is one of the first steps.

My art projects are also a few steps in the right direction (I think).

One of my most recent completed projects, The Morning Picture Project, involved 16 other individuals besides myself. I feel by involving others in my art process I am opening myself and my art world more to the general public.

So, I will continue to encourage and facilitate dialog via this blog and others as well as make “Participatory Art.”

Everyday, I wake up with new ideas on how to reach my goals as an artist. If you asked my fiance, all I am is art. I think it will have to remain that way in order to reach my goals and I am willing to do just that. After all, Art is Life.
