WORLD ART BREAK DAY takes place ANNUALLY on the FIRST FRIDAY in September. Art Sites are set up in cities around the world and everyone is invited to sit down, take a break, and make art for FREE!
We believe a healthy, vibrant, and well-balanced society is one where everyone participates in the arts. World Art Break Day was created to make art accessible to more people and to connect communities through shared creative experience. This day is about everyone.
On World Art Break Day, people around the world pause their routines and gather to make art together – in libraries, schools, studios, sidewalks, community centers, and other everyday spaces. No experience is required. No special skills are needed. The simple act of showing up and creating is what matters.
At the heart of World Art Break Day is the belief that everyone is an artist. Each hosting location becomes a living, evolving artwork – a social sculpture shaped by the people who participate. Every person who sits down, creates, and connects becomes part of something larger.
