Take an Art Break with the Changing Seasons
🍂🌱 Take an Art Break with the changing seasons.
Somewhere, a leaf loosens its hold.
Somewhere, a green shoot breaks through the soil.
As autumn unfolds in the Northern Hemisphere, spring awakens across much of South America. The earth holds these rhythms at once: branches letting go, gardens stirring, seeds resting in darkness, blossoms opening to the light.
We carry these seasons within us, too.
There are parts of us ready to soften their grip. An old expectation. A story we have outgrown. The need to know exactly where the path is leading.
And there are parts quietly reaching toward life. A forgotten desire. A color we suddenly want to paint with. A small, brave curiosity asking for our attention.
Perhaps you are shedding and growing at the same time.
Perhaps something is blooming while something else asks for rest.

Take an Art Break and give these feelings a place to land.
A season does not bloom all at once, and neither must you. There is time to loosen, time to listen, time to send down roots. There is time to begin with one small mark.
Today, let the turning earth inspire your hands.
Step 1. Take Notice and Gather Materials. Notice what the season has left at your feet. The curled edge of a leaf. The tender green of a new stem. A little weathered beauty you might otherwise walk past. Gather a fallen leaf, a fresh blossom, a scrap of paper, or simply your favorite colors.
Step 2. Ask, What am I ready to shed? Then, create from that. Draw a line that loosens into space. Tear paper. Layer autumn colors. Write a word, then paint over it. Follow the gesture your hand wants to make.
Step 3. Now ask, What am I ready to nurture? Then, create from that. Give it a color, a shape, a little room. It may arrive as a bright burst or one shy mark in the corner. Stay curious. See what happens when you add another color or material.
None of the work needs an explanation. Let your marks be messy. Let the colors mingle. Let a leaf become a wing, a circle become a seed, a stray line leads you somewhere unexpected.
There are no Art Police here, only an invitation to spend a few unhurried moments with your own becoming.
Step 4. Side by Side. Look at both pieces together. What passes between them? Is there a color they share? Does something you are releasing make room for something you wish to grow?
Make today an Art Break Day. 🎨✨
